Dynamic Web Solutions first made a web site for Crystal Creek Farm Cottage in 2000. After some
recent photography, owner Pat Schofield decided to renew her site. The colours and photography reflect
the natural setting of the holiday cottage.
Photography is central to a web site's success. Often people are window shopping for accommodation
on the web and a web site's homepage may only get a glance before the user decides to click back or
click a link to see more. Good photography can encourage visitors to go further into your site. |

(INACTIVE) Ferndahl first had Dynamic Web Solutions build their web site in early 2003. This year, after extensive
renovations and the addition of a cottage to the facilities, Suzi and Allen decided to renew and
revitalise their web site.
The new site uses more contemporary colours while maintaining its focus on straightforward navigation
and clear access to the text content for search engines. Generally, accommodation providers renew
their web sites at around the 3 year mark. |

Team Legal is the creation of Richard Ennis. Richard offers a
full legal service at Homebase in Coffs Harbour. Richard's brief was a simple, uncluttered design
that focused on the services offered. His web site was the last thing to be created after a business
card and DL flier. The logo and design are carried through all these marketing materials to build
consistency and therefore brand recognition. Richard has recently added a number of plain language
law articles to add value to his web site. |

(INACTIVE) John approached DWS to rebuild his web site after talking to other local real
estate agents. His central concern was that the design was not positioning him well in his market.
Nor did his old web site really say much about the uniqueness of his business, particularly its
focus on seaside real estate. John stipulated that the site be simple - that his customer base were older people and that their
feedback to him suggested they liked a plain site that is easy to navigate (isn't that what all users
want?). In our design we have developed a seaside theme using ocean colours (teal) and beach images
(wave background, seagull). The navigation system is aimed at getting people looking at property pages
as quickly as possible. A business card and street sign were also extrapolated from the design. See
John's comments. |

Hugh Meares is an Auckland based consultant specialising in refining
and focusing sales pitches for large export companies. His web site is plain and business-like. His
competitors' sites focused more on the personality of the consultant and not on their services or
customer feedback. |
