67. Ferndahl Mountain Inn
(revised Feb 2006) Suzi & Allen Johnson had recently bought this property. There was a website
in existence created by the previous owner. It was not particularly professional but had achieved a little
bit of search engine presence. Suzi hired a photographer. I wrote the text and Suzi edited it. The site
features a booking form and guestbook, both run under Perl. Remade January 2006.

68. Bellingen's Best
Real Estate Real Estate Agent Guy Saddleton has constructed this site of exclusive, hand-picked Bellingen
real estate to offer a more intense and personalised real estate sales and advisory service. In as far
as he is moving away from a churn approach of the major real estate franchises, this site is unique. Note
the VR tours handled by a java applet on the listings pages. Guy updates this site himself. Customer

69. Bellinger Valley
Removals Still under construction, Mark Balcolm's web site is a one-page web site designed to work
in tandem with his Yellow Pages advertising. Mark considered that the combination of a smaller Yellow
Pages presence, published with a web site address, would bring in a better return for his marketing budget.
A 5 page quote and inventory pdf document
is available for download from this site.
70. The Boiling
Billy Coffee House (revised Feb 2006) The Boiling Billy, or just "The Billy" as it is known
locally, is an award winning cafe in the heart of Bellingen This site includes menus in pdf format and
a map to locate the cafe for driving motoring tourists. This site is comprehensively linked into other
resources on Bellingen. Remade January 2006.

71. Mountain Spring Flower
Essence This simple, elegant 5 page web site offers flower essence for sale. It uses a free, online
shopping cart to collect orders. Owner, Jan Harper has carefully written a detailed description of each
of her flower essences and a description of the manufacturing process.

72. Brain Gym Books Summerfield
Book's "Brain Gym Books" web site offers the innovative Brain Gym learning series of books for
sale. This retail web site is aimed at the Australian & Asian markets. It has a unique address in
Australia and few competitors. The design replicates a paper catalogue, which to date has been posted
out regularly at considerable expense. Customer

73. Hotel
Motel Dorrigo I approached owner Peter Feros after finding a student-built site on the Dorrigo Hotel
hosted at the address www.midcoast.com.au/~toppub. The student had built the site using frames (invisible
to search engines) and many pages were incomplete. I felt these things were actively working against projecting
the business well.
I proposed Peter register his own domain name and host the site with email addresses for
each staff member. We got together and photographed the most important aspects of the Hotel. Peter provided
some text and I wrote the rest.
In the photography particularly I wanted to communicate the central nature to the building
in the Dorrigo townscape, and the historic and monumental aspect of the building. The site includes a
scrolling panorama, a booking form and list of attractions. Interestingly, it hit number 1 on Google (for
the searches, hotel motel dorrigo, hotel dorrigo, motel dorrigo) before I had even submitted it
to the search engines. Subsequently bookings started.

74. Sea Urchin Fishing
Charters Mark Flanagan's web site promoting fishing charters out of South West Rocks. Includes a photo
gallery and links to accommodation providers.

75. Save the Brumbies (OWNER
EDITOR) Jan Carter, a harpist and classical guitarist, started this web site after a culling
of brumbies in the Guy Fawkes National Park went horribly wrong. The site attempts to advocate better
solutions for the horses and provides many excellent links to horse related sites, both in Australia and
abroad.
Jan's response to the culling is deeply felt and intimate and she has tried to communicate
this in her latest CD "Run with the Wind" which is available (with others) from the site.

76. New Light Ministries & Consulting
Services After a lifetime of travel, Jeff Camm, an ordained pastor, has created this site to allow
people to download his Christian teachings.
In this site, and many of those above, I have been focusing on accessibility and usability.
Accessibility means constructing a web site for the 10% of people who are either blind (or otherwise sight
impaired), are colour blind, have a cognitive difficulty (such as dyslexia) or a motor-neuron which makes
mouse use difficult.
Focusing on accessibility and usability has the happy consequence of delivering search
engine visibility - meaning search engines can easily get in and index a site.
It also is good for public relations as SOCOG found out when blind man, Bruce McGuire, put
a case to the Human Rights & Equal Opportunity Commission sounding his ability to access the SOCOG
site. SOCOG was fined $22,000!
77. Aunty Lil's Cottage
Nearly 100 years old, Aunty Lil's cottage has recently been converted into holiday accommodation. Owner,
Gail Raymond, has paid enormous attention to detail in establishing her accommodation and has brought
this approach to her web site. The site is small, but highly informational. I have established a feminine
country theme. <TOP>

78. Easy Media (INACTIVE)
Operating in Coffs Harbour, NSW, Easy Media & Communications Ltd Pty offers top quality graphic design,
corporate imaging and marketing services. Owner Matt & Sonia Wallis asked for a clean, simple design
that loads quickly.

79. Richmond Valley
Passenger Transport Project Based in Lismore, Project Officer Linda Lowman, contacted me to put this
Council-funded web site together. Because it is expected that the user group be a wide cross-section of
the community, we focused on both accessibility and usability. The aim of this web site is to draw together
disparate resources on public transport in the Richmond Valley into one place.

80. Lisnagarvey Cottage
B&B This site started life in MS Publisher, and to be honest, it was limping along like a three
legged dog. We started from scratch and rebuilt the site using smaller (in byte size) images, new images,
new design and new text. The test as ever will be in the pudding, will it be found more easily, will people
understand how to use it and will more bookings result.
81. Clouds End This is
the second draft of this web site. I suggested a rebuild to remove unnecessary code, to make the code
valid against the W3.org standard and hence fast loading, accessible and
search engine compatible. This site features short mpeg videos shot from a helicopter.
82. Rose Patch B&B
Situated in Ian Kethel's amazing garden of roses, hippiastrum and day lilies, Rose Patch B&B is aimed
at the garden tourist market. Specifically suited to couples in motor touring mode, Rose Patch offers
self-contained accommodation a short distance from the heart of Bellingen.
Other work this year includes a complete rewrite to the Moon Diary
web site, major edits to the International Porter Protection Group's
website, assisting Colin Weaver rewrite his Bliss Holidays
site to make the HTML valid and to optimise for search engines.
