 |
Set in the Kalang Valley, a few short minutes from Bellingen, Lily Pily Country House is the dream
of Felicity & Brian Sherratt. Recently arrived in Bellingen from Sydney, Brian and Felicity
have built and furnished this luxury accommodation with broad rural valley views. Aimed at the executive
market Lily Pily Countryhouse has four private and roomy suites, while also encouraging group interaction
in spacious comfortable lounge, dining and deck areas.

84. Hyde 'n' Seek Cafe & Accommodation |
 |
 |
| (INACTIVE) Ian & Lesley Hughes bought this Bellingen
main street location some 12 months ago. The building had been a Ray White real estate franchise
but Ian and Lesley saw its potential as a B&B and Café. The building, an original Californian
Bungalow, is situated on the left as you enter Bellingen from the Pacific Highway and is a very
short walk to the heart of Bellingen with it's vibrant arts, crafts and social activities. Catering
for couples looking for clean, modern surrounds in a central location, Hyde 'n' Seek is the ideal
location for your next visit to Bellingen. DWS also designed a DL Flier and business card following
the design of the website. |

85. Wallaby Tracks Leather Footwear - Handmade Leather Footwear
|
www.wallabytracks.com.au |
 |
Fionna & Errol Wood have been manufacturing leather sandals for 12 years. Their website showcases
their leading sellers. Relying on a market presence in Bellingen and Lismore, and a one colour,
roll-fold brochure, Errol & Fionna understood it was time to publicise their products more widely.
This, and the fact that cheap Indonesian knock-offs had undermined their retail distribution channel,
meant it was time to act. This site includes a shopping cart to handle ordering, shipping and tax
calculations.
|

|
|
 |
This site started life in 2000. At that time DWS marked up the pages in a static website. We hand-coded
the listing pages until late 2002 when the site went dynamic - the properties were all listed in
an MS Access database and a web interface was built to allow the customer to upload their property
descriptions, prices and images.
|
| Then, this year we changed the site design after the First National franchise group
changed its corporate identity. The site now follows the corporate style manual directly and takes
its place in the First National family of websites. First National Regional Manager, Jason Gower,
described this site as the "best in the franchise family". |

|
|
 |
This small accommodation site had been unchanged for about 5 years. The site was hosted in a subdirectory
with "that funny squiggle" (~) in front of it on a local ISP's server. The owners, Jenny
and Steve, were interested in taking the next step to their own domain and to renew and refresh
their content.
|
| Steve supplied photos and text changes. I retained the background colour and added text
where required. Jack the dog and Marilyn the pig are known fixtures at Bellingen River Family Cabins...
and so they feature predominently in the header and footer. The Comic Sans font was used as the site
has children as a user group. Traffic is being trapped and forwarded from the old ISP's address. |

88. Australasian Bioenergetics Association Incorporated - Complementary Health
|
www.bioenergetics.org.au |
 |
This web site supports a community of complementary health practitioners. The Association formed
in response to the Pan Pharmaceuticals debacle which prompted the Therapeutic Goods Administration
to introduce wide ranging controls on alternative therapies. The industry realises that it needs
to group together and speak with one voice if it is to survive. This web site all be the point of
information exchange and collaboration.
|

|
|
 |
This accommodation web site was one of the oldest in Bellingen. It was first created by Joynt Produxions
maybe as long as 7 or 8 years ago and not updated since. It had been hosted in a subdirectory of
an ISP's web server until DWS took over the hosting about 18 months ago.
|
| New owners, Margaret and John Hope had been planning to renew the design and update
the content since that time. In redesigning the site only a small amount of text was migrated from
the old site to the new. New photography has been added. Behind the scenes, the code has been streamlined,
validated against the W3C standard and the site uses a style sheet instead of old tags from former
HTML standards. The site now sits comfortable among its competitors as a usable and accessible web
site. |

90. Lee Sames Egan Pty Ltd
|
|
 |
The brief for this web site was simple: make it plain and matter-of-fact. Nothing fancy. The site
has to give customers confidence to approach the firm, detail office locations and areas of specialty
of the partners.
|

91. The Big Windmill Motor Lodge - motel accommodation Coffs Harbour
|
www.bigwindmill.com.au |
 |
The Big Windmill is a Coffs Harbour icon. There had been a web site previously for The Big Windmill
hosted at www.bigwindmill.com (no .au), but it was very light on text. Text is important on a web
site as it is more or less the only thing that the search engines can understand. In creating this
site I have paid particular attention to what it says, both for the human audience and search engines.
|
| As Coffs Harbour has many hotels and motels, this web site will have many competitor
web sites. The search phrases I will be aiming for will be "motel coffs harbour" and "accommodation
coffs harbour". This can only be achieved if the Motel owner and I network with other web site
owners to create links that will connect this site into the world wide web - that way search engines
will "rank" the site more highly. |

92. Treksafe - mountain safety and high altitude medicine
|
www.treksafe.com.au |
 |
General Practitioner Jamie Duff developed a portable
altitude chamber or PAC for short. This site details the PAC's operation, construction, price
and freight options. It also contains detailed information on high
altitude sicknesses, offers a medical
manual on the same topic and details of guided
journeys.
|
|
Jamie's partner and assistant Rejane Bellanger has directed the design process and manages this
site with Macromedia's Contribute II.
This is the second draft of this site. The first draft was more graphical. This had the downside
that it was slower to load, text was locked up in graphics which made it difficult to edit and invisible
to search engines. This site is valid against the W3C HTML
4.01 standard and special effort has been made to make all headings and text indexable by search
engines.
|

93. Anchors Wharf Cafe & Family Restaurant
|
www.anchorswharf.com.au |
 |
Long established and multi-award winning
restaurant Anchors Wharf now has a basic web presence. Owners Steve & Denise Ryan believed that
being able to have all their menus downloadable would save time faxing menus out of hours, particularly
for functions and at Christmas time. Importantly, the site also links to nearby town portals, accommodation
providers in Urunga and local tourist operators.
|

94. Bailey Dixon Lawyers & Consultants
|
www.commslaw.com.au |
| The telecommunications industry is booming. Mobile and Wireless networks require unique
specialist legal services. This site provides the expertise. |

95. Coffs Harbour Business Directory, Coffs.biz
|
www.coffs.biz |
|
This web site is owned and maintained by Dynamic Web Solutions. Our intention is to create a fast
loading links directory of quality Internet resources on Coffs Harbour.
We intend to use this links directory to give immediate visibility to DWS Coffs Harbour web site
design customers. We are also trying to give people better pictures of Coffs Harbour as few site
actually show the user much detail.
This site is a response to Google's "Florida" algorithm change which places more emphasis
on "expert" pages. Therefore this site will attempt to aggregate nonaffiliated, quality
links to Coffs Harbour's online resources. Listing on Coffs.biz FREE. Go to our Request
a Link page to add your URL. Listings are added at the discretion of the webmaster.
|

96. Biodynamic Wine Forum
|
|
| (INACTIVE) This project of Biodynamic
Agriculture Australia is a unique three day forum to be held in Beechworth, Victoria. The conference
brings together the worlds leading Biodynamic vignerons from Europe, Australia, New Zealand
and the USA. The web site reflects the conference's paper marketing materials. |

97. Jaron Holdings, warehouse for lease, Coffs Harbour
|
www.jaronhol.com.au |
| This site has the single purpose of attracting a lessee for this factory premises. The
site uses still photography and two 180° panoramas to give interested parties a look around the
warehouse. |

|
|
 |
I first created this site in 2000. This is a modernised, more picture orientated site. It is structured
to perform better on search engines.
|

99. Commonwealth Carer Respite (Western Australia)
|
www.carer-respite.org.au |
 |
(INACTIVE) Jan Pagonis of the Red Cross (WA) contacted
me to create a website for this government funded program that supports people who care for family
members from home.
|
| Two years earlier I had created www.carer-respite.org,
(a sister organisation based in Macksville, NSW) and this site was requested as the template for the
Red Cross (WA) site. |

HERE IT IS - MY 100th WEBSITE...
100. Biodynamics Agriculture Australia
|
www.biodynamics.net.au |
|
As you can see from this portfolio I started creating websites in 1998. This is my 100th site!
I mostly find and complete projects alone... so I can take the credit for all the projects listed
on this and other pages of the portfolio.
The Biodynamics site is a rebuild of a former site. The old site was in orange, cream and green
and had dated badly. This site has to do a lot of functions; it has a shopping cart, membership
request form, and downloads of press and research articles.
|

101. International Porter Protection Group
|
www.ippg.net |
 |
I had been maintaining and hosting this site for about 2 years when owners Rejane and Jamie asked
me to rewrite it to renew the design, make it easier to edit in Macromedia Contribute and add new
content.
|
| This site contains valuable information about Mountain Porters, their working conditions
and lives. The photo of the "traditional porter" without shoes is a sobering image. |

102. Eve Gurd Art & Clothing
|
|
 |
Eve Gurd feels strongly about aboriginal reconciliation, Christian values and art. The art displayed
on this site is broken into these broad themes.
|

103. Malibells Country Cottages, accommodation Bellingen
|
www.malibells.com.au |
 |
Helen and Tony Margis bought this property six months ago. The former owners had run it as "Spicketts
Creek Cottages". Helen and Tony have added a ground pool. This rural location is an ideal family
or group getaway.
|

|
|
 |
Ann Rosewood runs an extraordinary fashion and homewares store in Bellingen. Kakadu Clothing &
Emporium Bellingen offers a wide range of men's and women's fashion clothing, shoes and handbags.
The store also now sells homewares and gifts.
|
| Presently the site only sells Naot sandals and shoes. However Elliot Kennedy, Arianne
lingerie and Morrison products will be added shortly. |

106. Lance Mason, Writer
|
www.lance-mason.com |
 |
Lance Mason is a Californian-based writer. The purpose of his web site is to communicate with publishers.
The site evokes the characters and themes of his latest novel "Full Circle".

"Peter took care of all our website and photographic requirements. The resultant website and advertising material
justified our confidence that we felt in him from our very first meeting.
Very professional and efficient Peters guidance through decision making was structured, organised and
free of fuss. It just happened."
